Mu Zeta Lambda chapter adheres to Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. National Programs and Partnerships.  Our local programs are:

1.  Men of Tomorrow Program/Go-to-High-School, Go-to-College,

2.  What’s your Hook?/Project Alpha

 

Men of Tomorrow Program

The Mu Zeta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. along with the MZL Education Foundation, Inc. overseers and operates the Men of Tomorrow Program.  Since the early 1980s, Mu Zeta Lambda Chapter, Inc. has been working together to help young teenagers make the right decisions surrounding sexuality, drugs, violence and attitude.  The Men of Tomorrow (MOT) Program helps youth by creating a safe environment where young teenagers can learn about and explore their peer and adult relationships as well as creating and building leadership qualities that prepares them for real life.

 

The Men of Tomorrow (MOT) Program is a youth development and leadership training program where young teenaged males are mentored by professional men.  The Men of Tomorrow (MOT) Program has a high school curriculum and is based on preparing young high school aged men for the next step in life.  

 

The Men of Tomorrow Program targets Polk County, FL teenagers from the 9th grade to 12th grade. Each year the MOT Program includes various sessions that are centered around teaching points that increase the youth awareness, responsibility and overall outlook on life. Some of the sessions include:  Community Service Projects, Financial Aid, Money Management, Sex Education, Parliamentary procedures, Politics, Drug and Substance prevention, Presentation Skills, Goal Setting, Leadership Development, Educational Field Trips.

Project Alpha – What’s Your Hook?

The Mu Zeta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. along with the MZL Education Foundation, Inc. presents Project Alpha, coined as an Annual Program series called, “What’s Your Hook”.  The purpose of Project Alpha is to provide factual information to program participants in order to change attitudes and behaviors that result in negative behavior of young teenagers.

 

The program’s foundation help reach three goals:

1.  Sharing of Knowledge – combating ignorance and fear with factual information

2.  Changing Attitudes – providing motivation toward positive changes in overall behavior

3.  Providing Skills – creating a sense of empowerment and self esteem
