Mu Zeta Lambda Education Foundation, Inc. (MZL) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization operated by the Mu Zeta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity develops leaders, promotes brotherhood and academic excellence, while providing service and advocacy for our communities.

Since the early 1980s, members of Mu Zeta Lambda have been serving as role models to African American youth in Polk County through our Foundation. Our programs include the Men of Tomorrow Institute (MOT) and Project Alpha.

  • MOT is a youth development and leadership-training program where the Fraternity members mentor young men in middle and high schools (grades 8-12).
  • Project Alpha is an annual day-long series that we call: “What’s Your Hook?”.  The purpose of Project Alpha is to provide factual information and real life perspectives to participants (young men and young ladies) about the effects of attitudes and behaviors.

Both programs help youngster to develop positive relationships and encourages smart decisions relating to education, sexuality, drugs, violence and character.
